Dosan (ドサン) was a mononoke summoned by a human named Hanzo Miyamoto.

Appearance

Dosan was a large mononoke with a half-humanoid appearance. He had pitch black arms and legs, with sharp claws. His stomach was round despite not being fat, and the stomach area left a white stripe between the black arms and legs. He had his mononoke symbol on his belly button. He was a long thin black tail with a tuft of white hair at the end. He had light coloured hair which was long and messy. His had eyes with inverted colours, a long elephant-like nose and goat-like ears.

Personality

Dosan was a cruel and abusive mononoke. He used to take advantage of Kusanagi's kindness and naivety to get everything he wanted. He didn't hesitate on manipulating and fooling others, specially those who were weaker than him. Due to this quality of himself, Kanbei entrusted him to kill Dora and Kusanagi.

He was a pathological liar, telling Kusanagi that he did not try to kill him and he regretted what he'd done, saying that they were friends. In a fight, Dosan never fought directly and always used dirty tactics to defeat his oponents, he attempted to trick Dora by using a spirit technique to create a mirage of his deceased mother and Kusanagi with his old friend that was killed by Dosan.

Dosan had no honor and was able to throw away his dignity by begging for mercy in order to make his victims let their guard down, so he could kill them and steal their supernatural energy. Dosan was also a coward, once he saw himself with no energy enough to fight Dora and Kusanagi he chose to run.

History

In the past, Dosan feigned being ill which led to Kusanagi and another mononoke to collect food to help him recover. Dosan lied about believing every mononoke should help each other out and as he hugged the two of them, he used his trunk to suck the life energy out of the mononoke. Before the mononoke died, it freed Kusanagi telling them to run. Dosan insisted that Kusanagi will be his next victim.

Plot

Dosan was summoned to the Kuroso Mountains gate by a Human, Kanbei was pleased to see he finally arrived, he said that he had to see his children. Kanbeh then guides him to the meeting location but before that, the mysterious Human encourages him to rampage near a human settlement, Dosan questions why the Human brought him into the Human world.

Abilities

• Energy Drainage: Dosan can use his trunk to suck all the supernatural energy and life energy from the victim.
• Phantom Fog: A technique that uses all of the mononoke Dosan has sucked all the energy from and uses them as lifeless pawns. Dosan can allocate an amount of supernatural energy to the mononoke summoned, to make them stronger.
• Phantom Fog Sweet Mirage: A spirit technique that uses the memories of a victim who has been drained , to create a mirage that lures them into submission.
